Benefits of Working at Scottrade

Scottrade provides an outstanding benefits package for our associates.
Here is a summary of what we offer:

Compensation

Wages at Scottrade are market-competitive and performance-based. In addition to a base salary, all regular full- and part-time associates are eligible for our quarterly bonus program. Each associate's bonus payout is based on the overall performance of the firm in conjunction with the associate's personal job performance. While these bonuses are not guaranteed, they are an important part of our total compensation package.

Medical

Our health care plan provides comprehensive coverage for full-time associates and their eligible dependents.

We offer medical benefits through a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) and utilize United Healthcare® networks across the country. Our plan features office visit co-payments, preventive care, and in-and out-of-network coverage. Our plan also includes a prescription drug program that offers prescription co-payments and a mail order pharmacy.

As added incentives to encourage healthier lifestyles, associates can receive premium discounts when they complete a confidential health assessment and are tobacco free. The discounts can add up to more than $350 annually for single associates and $550 for a family.

Dental

Our dental program offers associates and their dependents a simplified form of self-funded dental coverage that reimburses the associate or dentist directly for incurred dental expenses. As part of this program, associates have the freedom to choose their own dentists without restriction.

Vision

Our associates and their eligible dependents receive vision benefits through Spectera. All eligible full-time associates are automatically enrolled for single coverage at no cost and can elect to add family members at a minimal cost. Each participating member has access to a large, diversified network of private practice optometrists, ophthalmologists and retail chain providers.

Time Off

New associates are eligible for the following time off:

  • Vacation: prorated up to 12 days (depending on date of hire)
  • Sick: prorated up to six days
  • Paid Holidays: nine market holidays each year

401(k)

Scottrade's 401(k) Plan is designed to help associates prepare for the future. All regular full-time and part-time associates may contribute up to 50 percent of their pay into a traditional pretax 401(k) plan and/or a Roth 401(k) plan. Rollovers are accepted from former employers' qualified plans. A discretionary company match is offered based on the firm's performance. For the past three years, the company has met all associate contributions with a 50 percent match on the first 15 percent contributed to the plan.

Disability

Our disability plans include short- and long-term disability and provide associates with an income that is 60 percent of their pre-disability earnings if they become disabled and are unable to work. Scottrade absorbs the cost of disability benefits so there are no additional premiums for our associates.

Tuition Reimbursement

We provide an Educational Assistance Program for associates who wish to pursue personal development and professional growth by furthering their education. Eligible associates receive up to $5,250 each year to assist them with the cost of tuition and books.

Flexible Spending Accounts

We provide associates with the opportunity to pay for out-of-pocket health care and dependent care expenses with pre-tax dollars through Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs). In addition, we provide a Qualified Transportation Benefit Plan and a Subsidy Program to assist associates with parking and mass transit costs.

Wellness Program and Gym Membership

Full-time associates receive up to $250 ($125 for part-time, regular associates) per calendar year for participation in a wellness program such as: weight loss programs, gym or health club memberships, licensed nutritionist fees (not covered by our insurance), or smoking cessation programs.

Life Insurance

We provide all eligible associates with basic life insurance coverage at no cost. For non-management associates, coverage equals their annual salary up to $50,000. Management associates receive coverage equal to two times their annual salary up to $250,000. Associates can supplement their company-paid life insurance in increments of $10,000; up to five times their annual salary with a maximum of $500,000. In addition, associates can elect to purchase optional life insurance for their spouse and/or children.

Employee Assistance Program

We offer a free Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to all associates. The EAP is a confidential service that can provide associates access to the following:

  • Legal advice
  • Elder care and child care referrals
  • Financial planning information
  • Consultations on personal or work issues

Charitable Giving Program

Scottrade expresses its support for stewardship, compassion, caring and integrity by the development and implementation of programs that support charitable organizations in areas where our associates and customers live and work. Our Charitable Giving program includes the following:

  • Charitable Matching Program: Scottrade matches up to $10,000 per year for each associates’ donation to qualified non-profit organizations.
  • Cash for Champions: Scottrade will donate $20 per hour to a charity for every hour an associate volunteers their time up to 20 hours. If an associate volunteers more than 20 hours a year they are entered into a drawing at the end of the year, that gives a $1,000 grant to an associates charity.
